Age: 50
Beard Age: 1yr 5mths.
Beard Style: Full length but I always trim the sides.

Why did you grow a Beard?
-I was forced to shave in the army and when I got out the first thing I did was grow a funny looking beard.


What length or style are you going for? Is there a length you feel is to long?
-I like the style that was common around the 1880's. I cannot see my beard ever being to long, I will let nature decide.


Did you ever want to grow a Beard before you were old enough?
-Yes, I worked in a car spares place at 16 and spent ages using a rear view mirror to see if any hairs were growing on my chin yet.


If so, was there any influences to that decision?
-No not that I can recall.

-'If your Dad doesn't have a beard you've got two mums' (The Beards)


Does your Beard have a nickname. If so, what is it, and how did you get it?
-N/A

What first motivated you to grow a Beard?
-I found I could grow them fast & figured I should take advantage of that fact.

Describe your Beard in one word.
-Harmony.


Do you recommend other men to grow Beards?
-Yes I do, I ask them why they do not have one.:)


Do you feel there's any downfalls to growing beard? If so,what are they?
-Getting hassled by people who hate beards and do not understand how much it means to me. Getting in the way in many situations.


Do ever shave or plan on shaving your Beard in the future? If so, why?
-No, not unless it falls out by itself.


What grooming techniques do you perform on your facial hair?
-Wardie told me about Jojoba but that is all I do.


If you have a spouse/partner; how do they feel about your choice of facial hair?
-My wife does not like beards but has come to the realisation that nothing will get me to shave this time. I did cut it off for her once & she knew it was not going to last.


How long have you been growing Beards?
-Off & On since 21.


What do you like most about your Beard?
-The natural thickness & speed of initial growth.


How do you deal with comments from friends/family/coworkers,etc?
- If they are negative I remind them that I could always make comment about the hair on their head if they continue. (eg, I do not like their hair style)


Have you ever experienced any rejection because of your beard?
 -Not in work because I work for the Government. I am sure if I did not it would be much harder to be accepted.


Any Beard achievements, you're especially proud of?
-Making it a year the first time round.:) This period where I have never been before having not shaved for so long.


Do you have any word's of wisdom for future Beard growers?
-Do not give up at the times you feel it does not look good enough. Just keep focused and time will do the rest.


Do you Idolize someone's Beard? (Famous or Not.) If so, who and why?

-The Australian Bushranger Ned Kelly had the style I have always wanted.
